In today's Autumn Statement, George Osborne confirmed plans to reduce annual pension contributions.

From 2014/15, the government will reduce the total annual pension contribiton from £1.5m to £1.25m and at same time reduce annual allowance from £50,000 to £40,000.

The median pension pot is £55,000 and the average contribution to a pension is just 6,000.
