Board shakeup at Forvis Mazars as Gilbey takes reins

Newly elected CEO James Gilbey has overhauled the Forvis Mazars executive team with changes to tax and audit board members

Gilbey, former head of the advisory business and a forensic accountant, was elected as CEO last November after a partnership vote and has taken over from long standing boss Phil Verity this month.

The 10-person executive has five new members, with three women partners in key roles, and will be responsible for defining and delivering the Forvis Mazars’ strategy in the UK, following the merger with Forvis last June.

The audit seat on the board has changed with the appointment of Greg Simpson to the board coinciding with his promotion to the position of UK head of audit. He has been a partner, financial services for the last decade at the firm, and is also a board member of the ICAEW financial services faculty.
