PKF Littlejohn has appointed Satty Khangura as a partner in the financial services team in London. Khangura brings over 18 years of experience in auditing insurance businesses, leading complex group audits of insurance intermediaries and carriers, and his expertise covers private equity backed and listed businesses operating in the UK and overseas. Previously he was a partner at EY, where he initially joined as a graduate trainee, and is the latest senior hire to join the business from a Big Four. Pictured: Satty Khangura
Devonshires has appointed Andrew Cromb as a partner to set up a dedicated tax practice at the law firm. He will be based at the London office and brings over 15 years’ experience in tax law, and corporate and international tax, working with institutional investors and large corporate groups on a full range of transactions. He joins the corporate team from Linklaters where he was a consultant and prior a senior associate at BCLP.
Johnston Carmichael has appointed Tamsyn Weston as the firm’s first chief technology officer, and Deborah Ramsay joins as an audit partner, based in Edinburgh and Glasgow respectively. Weston brings more than 20 years’ experience in technology, transformation and cyber security within regulated environments, and previously head of identity and access management at Aberdeen group, and at RBS. Ramsay brings more than 20 years of audit experience, and is a chartered accountant and responsible individual (RI). She joins from KPMG where she was a director, having started at the Big Four firm as a graduate trainee. Katie Lange joins as a payroll director in Aberdeen and brings almost two decades of global payroll experience across sectors including oil and gas. Previously she was senior payroll manager EMEA/APAC at Speedcast. Leani Passano has been appointed as a director in the audit quality, risk & technical team in Manchester, and brings 15 years of experience in assurance and sustainability reporting, joining from Grant Thornton UK where she was a senior manager, having originally trained at PwC in South Africa.
Grant Thornton has appointed Thea Hutchinson as director in the economic consulting practice. Hutchinson brings 25 years of experience across regulated industries spanning water, transport, energy and financial services. Based in London, she will work with the advisory team to support clients operating in complex regulated environments. Hutchinson joins from Ofwat, the water services regulator, where she was director, customer policy and insights.
S&W has appointed Chris Hemsley as a director in the economic advisory practice to strengthen the private equity backed firm’s advisory offering for financial institutions, banks, fintechs and payment firms. Hemsley is a highly experienced economic regulator and policy expert with more than 20 years of experience in regulation, competition policy and consumer protection. He joins from specialist regulatory consultancy Fingleton where he was a director, and prior was managing director and board member at the Payment Systems Regulator.
Azets has appointed Simon Prior as tax director covering Devon and Cornwall. He brings more than 30 years of experience across a wide range of private client through to corporate tax issues, including capital and land transaction taxes. Having originally started life at HMRC he then moved into tax consultancy and practice. He joins the Plymouth office from Lang Bennetts in Truro, where he worked for more than 10 years as a tax director.
iplicit has appointed Sarah Clancey as director of talent development in a newly created role to support growth plans as the company scales up and ramps up focus on staff retention and recruitment in a highly competitive market. She will also lead on AI enablement work, including on learning and development. Clancey brings more than 20 years of experience in talent development, employee engagement, and learning and development. Clancey joins from hospitality technology scale-up Mews, where she was principal talent development partner.
Acting Office has appointed Matt Barnes as chief revenue officer as part of the accountancy software company’s UK growth drive, strengthening the senior leadership. Barnes brings over 20 years of experience in accountancy software and IT, sales and business development, and will be responsible for identifying growth opportunities, securing new client relationships across accountancy firms, and scaling up the sales function. Barnes joins from Wolters Kluwer where he was sales director, and is the second hire at Acting Office from the US multinational in as many months. Prior he spent more than a decade at Iris Software including as head of business development.
