CABA, the charity supporting chartered accountants, helped over 15,000 people last year, a 20% increase on the previous twelve months, according to its 2016 impact report published in its 130th year of operation
The charity says it was especially pleased with the increases seen in its digital interactions, including a 17% rise in traffic to its website. CABA also noted a 29% increase in visits to the website from international users, highlighting an increased reach and prominence, helping past and present ICAEW members from all over the world.
Almost 2,500 people accessed one-to-one support or personal and professional development courses which CABA provides to ICAEW members, while some 13,000 people gained advice and support through online resource tools such as the wellbeing zone, or engaging with CABA at events.
CABA saw a 12% increase in people accessing its tailored support services, with almost 1,400 people accessing legal advice, financial assistance, carer support and other sources of advice and support.
Kath Haines, CABA’s chief executive, said: ‘Across the board, we can see that awareness of our services is on the rise, and we hope this will continue in 2017, so that we can assist even more members in improving their wellbeing, both personally and professionally.
‘Over 500,000 people internationally are eligible for CABA’s support, and in 2017 we hope to help even more past and present ICAEW members, so we can enable better wellbeing and support for the chartered accountant community.’
