Jail sentence for security boss’ £419k tax fraud

The director of an Aberdeen security company, which provided security staff for Donald Trump’s Scottish golf club among other customers, has been sentenced to four years in prison after he was convicted of a £419,000 VAT fraud and removing criminal property from Scotland.

Kevin McKay was the sole director of IPPS Ltd and provided close personal protection services to the rich and famous, doormen for pubs and clubs, and guards at building sites.

McKay charged his clients VAT but lied on his tax returns, claiming his business was making less than 10% of its actual sales, and consequently defrauding £419,799.
