The charity, Island Health Trust, was set up in December 2008, then registered with the Charity Commission in January 2009 with the primary function to ‘promote the provision of primary health care and provide grants for health-related education and facilities.

Now the former chair of the charity, Suzanne Goodband, has been disqualified for seven years from acting as a trustee or holding any senior management role within a charity after ‘excessive, unreasonable and disproportionate’ expenditure on consultancy services when she ran Island Health Trust.

An interim manager was appointed by the regulator tasked with reviewing the concerns surround the former trustees and has managed to recover £165,000.
