Companies House to open ASCP registration from 18 March

Accountants will be able to register with Companies House as an authorised corporate service provider (ASCP) from 18 March, with ID verification to follow in a few weeks

The roll-out of the service was delayed initially from a February launch due to IT issues, after Companies House ‘identified areas with the service that required final testing’.

These issues have been resolved and the system will start accepting registrations from Tuesday.

A Companies House spokesperson said: ‘Following extensive testing, our new service for authorised corporate service providers (ASCPs) will go live on Tuesday 18 March.’

The ASCP regime will be voluntary initially, but from spring 2026 it will be mandatory for third party agents such as accountants and lawyers, filing on behalf of companies to be registered as an ACSP.
