Two members of the organised crime group, Kamlesh Vadukul, 36, Sheffield, and Amarjit Dhaliwal, 45, Warwick pleaded guilty at Birmingham Crown Court to conspiracy to commit fraud by false representation and money laundering.

Eight more defendants pleaded not guilty, which initiated a four-week trial at Birmingham Crown Court on 20 January 2025. However, they all pleaded guilty on the first week of the trial.

Raj Patel, 40, from Walsall, and Kamlesh Vadukul were the ringleaders of the gang that managed to scam £321,055 out of the insurance system before they were arrested. There were 39 collisions reported in total, which included a Mini Cooper and an Audi.

The pair were the ones submitting the claims for road traffic accidents that had been pre-planned or that had never happened, and also ran a vehicle repair shop for vehicles specifically involved in accidents.
