Ex BDO auditor banned after ‘sustained dishonesty’ on client audits

A former senior manager at BDO has been banned from working as an accountant and auditor for 20 years after falsifying documents, misusing partner signatures and deceiving audit partners

Amanda Nightingale acted with ‘sustained dishonesty’ over a five-year period between 2015 and 2019 when working on a large number of audits for private companies when working at BDO, the UK’s fifth largest audit firm.

On numerous occasions between 2015 and 2019 the conduct of Nightingale fell severely short of the standards expected of a member of ICAEW and brought discredit to herself, BDO LLP, and the accountancy profession, the Financial Reporting Council (FRC) said.
