Raashid Khan, 29, from Moseley in Birmingham, was a director of Ikandy Wholesale, a business which traded in fireworks and meat across the Midlands, until the Insolvency Service caught up with him after the company was wound up.

At Birmingham Crown Court, Khan was jailed for four years for forging documents, fraudulently obtaining a Covid loan and removing more than £60,000 in company money. 

Ikandy went into liquidation owing creditors a total of £431,458 as well as tax bill of £82,686 to HMRC. When the company went bust, Khan refused to cooperate with the liquidator, Antony Basset & Company, and their final report stated: ‘The directors have not co-operated with me, and no books and records have been recovered.’
