FTSE 100 women CFOs outnumber CEOs three to one

2024 saw 36 changes in FTSE 100 senior figures with just eight of these positions being given to women candidates, while the men’s footballing world still awaits its first female manager

There were 14 changes to FTSE 100 chief executive officers (CEOs) in 2024, and 22 chief financial officers (CFOs) were also moved out of their roles, while 50 football managers in UK football leagues were displaced in the past year, all replaced by men.

A difference in the roles of a top executive at a FTSE 100 firm and a football manager is that there are no female football managers. Although still heavily outnumbered by male CEOs and CFOs there has been a few steps in the right direction.
