Big Four accounting firm KPMG is set to acquire the identity and access management business division of Silicon Valley-based Cyberinc, which provides cyber security solutions globally
The deal will strengthen KPMG’s presence in information security consulting services and expand the firm's ability to provide clients with emerging and more agile identity and access management services.
Cyberinc is a subsidiary of Aurionpro Solutions Limited - a global technology product and solution provider, headquartered in Mumbai, India and San Ramon, California.
The identity and access management part of the business has 190 staff with offices in the US, India, Australia and the UK, and extensive experience providing advisory, strategy, implementation services, and managed services for organisations that need to transform their enterprise or consumer identity capabilities.
This is not the first foray into the security area for KPMG; it is already an alliance partners with Oracle and Sailpoint on information security.
Earlier this month [2 January] signed a deal with Ping Identity, the encrypted login service to use the identity service to ‘expand and accelerate the create of customer identity solutions that deliver convenience, personalisation and security for our clients’.
The Cyberinc transaction is KPMG's second acquisition in this area, following the October 2014 acquisition of certain assets of Qubera Solutions, a privately-held California-based cyber security firm.
Samir Shah, CEO, Cyberinc said: ‘Cyber threats continue to accelerate and remain a top business risk. This transaction will allow us to sharply focus on Isla - our malware isolation platform.’
‘Cyber security remains a top risk to organisations as threats grow in scale and cyber criminals develop new ways to access protected information,’ said Lynne Doughtie, KPMG US chairman and CEO. 'KPMG's identity and access management solutions team can assist clients, across all industries, protect their information and enable their digital strategies and growth plans.'
