Most tax experts expect to take a bonus cut this year, according to a survey.
But while 53% forecast a reduction, 15% expect no change and a lucky 32% think they will get a larger bonus this year than in 2007.
According to a poll by tax recruiter GRS, 65% of tax professionals still expect to get a bonus this year, despite turmoil in the financial markets.
Of those who do expect a bonus, expectations are of a 22% increase. And 15% see their bonuses doubling.
GRS consultant Angela Parker said: 'These results need to be taken in context. Less than a third of financial services professionals expect this year's bonus to match or exceed last year's payouts. Almost half expect their bonus to match or exceed last year's.
'Nothing is certain in life except death and the need for tax experts.'
