Help Paying Tax

As many taxpayers begin to feel the harsh bite of the recession, meeting tax bills may prove to be problematic. In the pre-Budget report 2008, the government launched its Business Payment Support Service to help businesses in difficulty. HM Revenue & Customs is providing a support helpline (0845 302 1435) and full details can be found on http://www.hmrc.gov.uk. Broadly you still have to pay any tax and interest, but using the service enables delayed payment without late payment surcharges.
