Tips on how to avoid recruitment pitfalls

Stacie Cheadle, Croner-i content consultant, rounds up the key case law for employers to consider when hiring staff from avoiding bias in job adverts to no-go questions at interviews

Whether it’s because the organisation is expanding or to replace outgoing staff, recruiting new staff is an essential process all employers must go through. But it doesn’t come cheap.

Even before employment begins, individuals are protected against discriminatory acts by a prospective employer under the Equality Act 2010 (EqA).
