This will be the first move into the UK accountancy space for NFP-owned Ground Control Business Management, a US based firm focused on the celebrity, entertainment and sports sector specialising in tax advisory, estate planning and family office services for high net worth clients and celebrities, and has four US offices in Los Angeles and Nashville with revenues of $5m plus.
The deal sees NFP’s acquisition of UK accountancy and business management firm Clay GBP, which it sees as a good fit for the US business with its focus on the sport, business and entertainment markets.
NFP plans to integrate Clay GBP into Ground Control’s operations and rebrand the firm by the end of Q2.
The seven Clay GBP partners, Richard Smethurst, Nick Parkinson, Bhavini Ratan, Ian Bailey, James Plumbly, Jasdeep Sami and Philip Hampson, will join the firm as managing directors, reporting to Chris Bucci, CEO of Ground Control. In addition, a team of over 50 staff will remain with the firm.
