A recent survey has found that out of 368 accountants, 79% have seen an increase in queries from their clients asking for tax advice in September. As a result of these figures, QDOS Taxwise has announced it will provide free tax and VAT advice to accountants and their clients for six weeks from 20 October to 28 November. Managing director of QDOS Taxwise, Ben Chaplin, said: 'We understand that accountants are being asked for advice and we are hoping that they will take advantage of the free clinic to not only educate themselves but also their clients. 'Our own advice line has been inundated with calls from accountants wanting to know more details about particular issues that have been highlighted by their clients.' Company budgets have become tighter given the current uncertainty the economy faces and it is hoped that the advice line will educate people on taxation laws so that they avoid the chance of any discrepancy.
