Accountants call for single sign on HMRC portal

Tax agents are frustrated by the lack of consistency in the quality of HMRC advisers and want to see client tax records merged into a single sign-on account to reduce complexity

More than two thirds (69%) of agents are calling for a single sign on portal to replace the separate Agent Services Account (ASA) and Online Services Account for Agents (OSAA).

Having two separate accounts was a major issue for agents as HMRC services are not consolidated and agents need to log into two different accounts to complete activities. This was felt to be unnecessary and time-consuming.
