Oghenochuko Ojiri, 53, owner of Ramp Gallery in London, and a presenter on the BBC’s Bargain Hunt, sold art worth nearly £140,000 to Nazem Ahmad, a suspected financier to Hezbollah based in Beirut.

He has now been jailed for two years and 18 months for breaches of the Terrorism Act 2000.

Ahmad was previously sanctioned by the US in 2019 and the UK in 2023.

Between 24 October 2021 and 18 December 2021 Ojiri sold eight pieces of art, but none of the names on the invoices were Ahmad’s. However, all of the purchases were made on behalf of Ahmad.

Prior to the sales, regulations were changed making art sellers subject to the terrorist financing money laundering regulations, with guidance approved by the Treasury.
