‘Reckless’ director jailed for £7.7m plane parts fraud

Surrey director sold thousands of fake airplane engine parts to global airlines, falsified invoices and invented employees in ‘utterly inexcusable’ fraud

Jose Alejandro Zamora Yrala, 37, from Virginia Water in Surrey, was sole director of airline parts broker AOG Technics Limited, a company he set up in 2015. He had experience in the aviation sector after he had worked in an airframes and engine division of an aviation company since 2011.

Yrala has been jailed for four years and eight months at Southwark Crown Court on 23 February after admitting to fraudulent trading between 2019 and 2023 when he ran his airline parts business. He originally pleaded guilty in December after initial proceedings.
