BDO breaks £1bn revenue barrier

BDO has reported revenues of more than £1bn for the first time in its 100-year history with growth across all core business areas and record investment in staff, AI and audit technology

Revenues hit £1.02bn marking 8.6% growth in the financial year ended 5 July 2024, up from £935m fee income the previous year. Operating profits increased by 15% to £227m, up from £198m.

Average profit per equity partner was £681,000, up 6% as the fifth largest UK accounting firm focused on investment in the business.

During FY 2024, audit, tax and advisory service lines saw solid growth. Audit posted revenues of £433m, an increase of 8.4% on the previous year.  BDO’s position as the main auditor for AIM-listed businesses and increasing demand from the main listing market contributed to the rise in revenue.

The tax business was up 7% at £241m with tax compliance, private client and risk advisory services continuing to be in high demand.
