BearingPoint, the global management technology and consulting company, has reached an agreement with Deloitte to sell its key North American public services unit to the firm.
Deloitte agreed in March to buy a 'significant portion' of the business, BearingPoint's largest and most influential unit, for $350m (£232m).
The company has also entered into a non-binding letter of intent agreement with PricewaterhouseCoopers to sell a substantial portion of its North American commercial services business, including the financial services segment to PwC for $25m.
Ed Harbach, chief executive officer of BearingPoint, said: 'We have concluded that a sale of the company's business units maximises value and provides the greatest stability for all interested parties. We are pleased that several parties have expressed interest in purchasing the majority of the company.
'We remain steadfast in our commitment to the clients we serve as we transition through this process and beyond.'
