Geraldine Coates, 60, from Honiton in Devon, has been jailed for three years and nine months at Exeter Crown Court after being found guilty of fraud by abuse of a position of trust.

For 22 years, between 1996 and 2018, Coates was treasurer at the Honiton and District Agricultural Association charity which runs the annual Honiton Agricultural Show, now in its 135th year.

During the trial, the court heard how Coates was also the director of an accounting firm called Geraldine Coates Accounting, based in east Devon.
