Businesses call for more green tax incentives

Businesses are calling on the Chancellor to introduce more tax incentives to encourage businesses to go green in the Autumn budget

Data collected in EY’s Budget survey revealed that 55% of 1,000 businesses interviewed wanted the Chancellor to introduce more tax incentives to encourage businesses to go green in his Autumn Budget.

In advance of COP26 in Glasgow, businesses were asked which measures the Treasury should pursue to encourage a faster transition to a greener economy, and over half stated that enhanced allowances for specific types of expenditure should be introduced to support businesses to invest in electric vehicles, energy efficiency improvements, and on-site renewable technologies.
