For those not into their sci fi, Skynet became operational on 4 August 1997 and became self-aware at 2:14am on 29 August 1997. That is, if you consider the Arnold Schwarzenegger film, Terminator, to be more documentary than ground-breaking fiction.

Leaving aside the (hopefully) unlikely event of a murderous artificial intelligence (AI) deciding that all humankind is superfluous, AI in tax is a hot topic.
