The UK and China has confirmed that the Chinese Institute of Certified Public Accountants and ICAEW will explore expanding the scope of examination exemptions for qualified accountants.

One area of focus is designed to improve qualification and exam recognition for accountants and lawyers training in either jurisdiction on the basis of current arrangements, with talks planned between ICAEW and their counterparts in China.

The government has committed to hold further dialogue and technical discussions with China on skills, including professional qualifications.
