Midlands based Dains Accountants has acquired an accountancy practice in Birmingham in a move designed to strengthen its offer for business owners in the region
Dains has taken ownership of Clere’s Accountants, previously located on Church Street, which was set up in 2003 and focused on owner-managed businesses and individuals.
Clere's staff will be relocated to the commercial services team at the Dains Birmingham office, headed by partner Ian Carter.
This year, 53 new staff joined Dains and seven graduates were welcomed into the business which has offices in Birmingham, Lichfield, Burton, Derby and Stoke-on-Trent. Established since 1926, Dains currently employs approximately 170 staff including 20 partners and directors.
Richard McNeilly, Dains managing partner, said: ‘This integration is a strong fit for the Dains commercial services team which serves clients from start-up to a turnover of several million pounds per annum.
‘We are delighted to announce the acquisition of the trade and assets of Clere’s Ltd which builds on our position within the Birmingham marketplace.
‘In recent years, our proposition has improved enormously for ambitious business owners, who require advice on everything from cloud accounting to VAT, corporate taxation and growth funding.’
