What advice would you give your younger self? As your career progresses, good and bad decisions are made, you hope the former outweighs the latter. I remember at one set of my (many over the years) leaving drinks, after a wholly unexpected outpouring of respect and kindness thinking how I’d underestimated how much people liked me; even the people I thought didn’t like me and maybe I should have stayed after all. They could have told me sooner but then again, I’m not a one company man and after three or four years anywhere I start to get itchy feet. A rolling stone gathers no moss.

A younger Finance Mole suffered a bit from imposter syndrome. It’s common, I think that most people at some point feel that they are out of their depth and they will somehow get exposed as a horribly overpromoted charlatan.
