I write this column several days into home working. I’m fortunate to be in a job where it’s possible to be mobile and for a company that’s not among the worst affected by the current craziness. I also decamped out of London five years ago; having a garden when I’m on a video call talking to someone in a poky New York studio apartment is a luxury.  What have I learnt in this new working from home world?

It’s hard to imagine ever getting up to get a train ever again. I know I find it hard to get out of bed before 8:30. Two months ago I would have been in the office.

The people who were annoying when you saw them everyday in the office are more, not less annoying working remotely.
