During her time as CEO, Gravita expanded rapidly with six acquisitions, expanding across Essex, Oxford, Bristol, Exeter and London, financed on the back of private equity funding from Tenzing.

Plumb has been replaced with immediate effect on an interim basis by recently appointed chair of the Gravita board, Heather Swanston, who only joined the accountancy firm in January after more than three decades at PwC.

Gravita said Swanston ‘will be stepping in to lead the business whilst we look for a suitable replacement’. 

It is understood that Plumb’s decision to leave the firm was by mutual agreement.

Entrepreneur Plumb, OBE, came to Gravita with a strong start-up background having launched a number of successful businesses. She was co-founder of innovation and recruitment consultancy Fresh Minds, then CEO and founder of fintech Fluidly. She was appointed as group CEO of Gravita in February 2022.
