The move signals the Top 30 firm’s next phase of national growth and follows Gravita’s rapid expansion to five UK offices and more than 400% headcount growth since 2022.
Mayhew joins from global law firm BCLP, where she was firmwide managing partner and global co-chair, and takes on the CEO role after a six-month period after departure of Caroline Plumb ‘by mutual agreement’ in June 2025. Since then, Heather Swanston, chair of Gravita, has been interim CEO at the helm of the firm, and has now returned to her role as chair of the board.
The appointment reflects Gravita’s continued scaling strategy, supported by private equity investor Tenzing, as it broadens its client offering and national footprint, and focuses on firm wide integration and further acquisitions.
