HMRC has confirmed that both the agent and customer online forums will close on 30 June 2025, with all queries to be handled via the HMRC website, webchat or social media channel.

In a communication to professional bodies, HMRC stated: ‘This decision reflects the increasing popularity of HMRC newer, superior digital support channels and a move to modernise and improve the online services they offer.’

In preparation for the closure, the forums will stop accepting new queries from early June 2025.
