HMRC to hire £130k director to overhaul customer service

With customer service at an all-time low, HMRC is advertising for a director of transformation to overhaul and transform service levels at tax authority

There is less than a week to go until the closing date for applications for the role of director of transformation, planning & performance in HMRC’s customer service team, based in the northeast and Scotland, with one day in London a week, according to the Civil Service jobs board.

This is a senior role with a salary to match ranging from £98,000 up to £130,000 depending on experience and the appointee will also be in line for end of year and in year bonuses subject to individual performance, and the very generous Civil Service pension with its 28.97% employer contribution.

HMRC is looking for a highly experienced customer service director, who is familiar with working in a demanding customer service environment, and has a broad skillset including working in transformation, workforce planning, performance and financial management.
