The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), which came into force on 25 May 2018, is one of the biggest shake-ups of the way data is handled legally in our burgeoning digital world. The new regulation has brought about a number of significant changes in how organisations process, manage and store personal data.

One business area that is being impacted by the GDPR is payroll. With payroll inherently involving the handling of large amounts of sensitive employee data, it is vital that whoever is dealing with payroll understands what the new regulation means and how they can put the right practices in place to manage their employee data correctly and keep it safe.
