Insider fraud: finance leaders need to get their act together

Finance leaders are supposed to act as gatekeepers of corporate integrity, but they are failing with many too scared to report incidents of fraud, warns Daniel Ball, chief product officer, Medius

Financial fraud is not just a problem - it is an epidemic that is infiltrating businesses at every level, from junior employees to senior finance directors and CFOs. Despite widespread awareness, the issue persists due to governance failures and a workplace culture that discourages reporting.

A shocking 65% of UK finance professionals have either spotted or suspected internal fraud in their workplace, revealed the Medius 2024 Financial Professional Census showing just how deep the problem runs.
