Women on Bboards?

One of the pledges made by the government in its Coalition Government Agreement was to ‘look to promote gender equality on the boards of listed companies’. According to a 2007 report by McKinsey & Company, there is evidence that companies with strong female representation at board and top management level perform better than those without. Despite this, in 2010 only 12.5% of the members of corporate boards of FTSE 100 companies were women.
