Funding of civil disputes

The much publicised Legal Aid, Sentencing and Punishment of Offenders Bill had its second reading in the House of Commons on 29 June 2011. The debate both in and outside parliament has largely been on the sentencing reforms and reduction in civil legal aid. However, Part 2 of the Bill contains important changes to the way in which civil disputes are funded.
