Company director faces prison

The Companies Act 2006 requires every company to keep 'adequate accounting records', defined as records that are sufficient to:

  • show and explain the company's transactions;

  • disclose, with reasonable accuracy, the company's financial position; and

  • enable the directors to ensure that any accounts the company is required to prepare comply with the requirements of the Act.
