Companies House: BIS supports beneficial owners register

When the discussion paper, Trust and Transparency, was issued by the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS) last summer, it contained proposals for 'responsible capitalism' aimed at restoring the public's trust in market transactions.

Although a full response to the discussion paper has not yet been published, the government has announced that it will be going ahead with one of its key proposals, namely a central registry of company beneficial ownership.
