US sanctions versus EU Blocking Regulation

The US recently withdrew from the Iran nuclear deal, known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA). JCPOA resulted in Iran-related sanctions imposed by the US being suspended but the withdrawal has led to these sanctions being reinstated.
