In October last year the Competition Commission published its proposals for reforming the market for statutory audit services having concluded that some features of that market had an adverse affect on competition. Since that report the Competition Commission has been replaced by the new Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) and new EU measures have been adopted that already address a number of the recommendations made.
