As the ongoing battle against tax havens continues, Liechtenstein has agreed to relax its banking secrecy rules and has accepted standards on international tax co-operation set out by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development.
Today, Switzerland is also expected to announce concessions to banking secrecy, and earlier this week Jersey became another Crown Dependency to sign a Tax Information Exchange Agreement with the UK.
Liechtenstein has said it will devise new rules with other countries, in order to encourage rich foreigners with undeclared accounts to come forward voluntarily, the Financial Times reports.
The first talks are due to be held today with Germany and then the UK next month.
