Celebrity chef John Burton Race has declared bankruptcy just two months after his ex-wife Kim was also made bankrupt following an application to the High Court from a creditor who was owed £15,000. The couple ran a Michelin-starred restaurant in Dartmouth, Devon, but she closed the failing New Angel in 2007 while he was filming I'm a CelebrityGet me Out of Here in Australia. Burton Race was then reportedly given no option but to sell the restaurant, which was bought by his friend Clive Jacobs, owner of the LastMinuute.com site who kept him on as head chef, The Telegraph reports. The Insolvency Service has confirmed that he declared bankruptcy in March, resulting in his assets being frozen.
