Armstrong Watson has appointed Tania Dimitrovich as tax partner to lead the tax practice in Manchester. She has more than 20 years’ corporate tax experience working with businesses on tax control frameworks and managing tax risks. Dimitrovich, a chartered tax advisor, joins the firm after 13 years with KPMG, where she spent the last five as a tax director working with a diverse client base, including tax risk management and governance, real estate and transactions, and the public sector. She originally training at HMRC as a corporation tax inspector and then worked as a customer relationship manager for some of the largest businesses in the South West.

RSM has appointed David Hawley as office managing partner in its Liverpool and Chester offices, taking over from Graham Bond, who will remain a senior partner in the North West team, and co-lead of the firm’s life sciences industry group. Hawley joined the firm in 2021 and is a prominent tax adviser in the market, advising privately-owned, family and entrepreneurial businesses and their owners on a range of tax matters. With over 18 years’ experience, Hawley has worked with clients across a range of sectors including media and technology, life sciences, manufacturing and retail. In his new role he will help to drive the firm’s growth strategy and lead the regional team, while continuing in his tax partner role.

PKF Littlejohn has appointed Garin McFarlane as partner, following nearly two decades at Big Four firms in London and Cape Town. He will focus on audit and assurance services for insurance carriers, Lloyd’s syndicates and brokers. Previously McFarlane was an audit director in the insurance audit practice at KPMG, and has a wealth of industry experience specialising in statutory audits, tax consulting, accounting and management related services. He is a member of the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants.

Albert Goodman has promoted three directors to partner including Robin Clempson, Tom Stone and Kelly Pinder who have all risen through the ranks at the firm. Clempson becomes partner of marketing and business development, and will lead on business development opportunities. Stone, part of the farms and estates team, becomes partner after 10 years at the firm, joining as a school leaver in 2014. In his new role, he will continue leading a portfolio of farming and landed estate clients, specialising in capital tax planning advice and agricultural finance. Pinder becomes tax partner and is a specialist in corporate tax focusing on owner-managed businesses and larger corporate clients. 

Milsted Langdon has appointed Jon Miles as tax partner, strengthening its team in Bath and Bristol. He brings more than 20 years of specialist tax experience as a chartered accountant and chartered tax adviser, focused on advising owner-managed businesses, particularly where personal and corporate tax intersect. He works with clients in a variety of sectors, including technology, engineering, manufacturing, consultancy, and professional services. Most recently he was a director at Richardson Swift in Bath.

Johnston Carmichael has strengthened its tech advisory board with the appointments of  Rachel Jones, founder of online brand protection company SnapDragon, and Elizabeth Pirrie, CEO of AccelerateHER. The expert group was founded to help drive the firm’s growth in the sector and enhance its ability to support the tech ecosystem. Jones has extensive experience in scaling businesses and fostering innovation, and is a non executive director of SnapDragon. Pirrie specialises in championing female founders and driving investment into women-led businesses.

Jerroms Miller Specialist Tax has promoted Nick Wright to head of corporate tax. He has extensive experience in corporate tax, critical for navigating the complexities of these transactions. Wright joined the firm in 2022 when the Miller Partnership merged with Jerroms, and the chartered accountant and tax adviser will be responsible for leading the tax team. Along with presenting regular webinars and seminars, he is also host of Jerroms Miller’s Tax Hour podcast.

Alvarez & Marsal has appointed Jan Crosby as managing director to lead its real estate & hospitality M&A practice in London, focusing on the European market. He specialises in advising clients on a range of transactions including buy-side, sell-side, capital raising, recapitalisations and restructuring. Previously he was head of corporate finance at Savills Capital Advisors, and before led KPMG’s real estate M&A team.

Dow Schofield Watts has appointed Josh Morris as an analyst in the corporate finance team in Cardiff. He previously worked at Prydis Accounting and Wealth in Exeter, where he focused on M&A, accounting, tax, and business valuations, and is partway through his ACCA training. This hire follows a move to a new larger office space in Cardiff.

PKF Smith Cooper has appointed Amrit Singh as transaction services executive and will support the team with financial due diligence, valuation and financial modelling engagements, as well as supporting with wider advisory services. Previously she was an analyst at Springboard Corporate Finance. Singh studied accounting and finance at University of Birmingham, when she also undertook part-time bookkeeping and administrative roles.

Equiom Group has appointed Mark Lindsay as head of employee retirement & reward services, and Natalie McGinness as a director in the team. Lindsay brings 25 years of experience in international pensions, employee benefits, savings plans, and share schemes, and is a qualified solicitor and seasoned pension trustee. In his new role, he will focus on driving the global strategy and aligning best practices across the group. McGinness brings significant expertise in the development, implementation, and sale of international employee compensation and incentive plans. She will play a key role in service enhancement, operational and regulatory oversight. Both were previously at TMF Group, Lindsay as director, employee benefits, McGinness as client director.

The Charity Commission has confirmed the appointments of Tasnim Khalid and Alan Mather as board members for a three-year term. Khalid, solicitor, is the founder and managing partner of Private Client Solicitors, a boutique law firm specialising in private wealth planning, charity law and practice. Mather is an experienced digital transformation leader with experience leading complicated technology programmes across the public and private sectors, including for DEFRA and HMRC.
