MHA has appointed Ahmer Khan as head of insurance for the UK, and leader of the financial services practice for Baker Tilly Ireland. He has more than two decades of assurance and consulting experience across the financial services sector with expertise in insurance, banking, asset management and capital markets. In his new role, Khan will service financial services clients in the UK and Ireland, and UK banking audit clients. Previously he was a partner at EY Ireland.

PwC has expanded its tax practice in Northern Ireland with the appointment of Sinead Kinsella as director in its private business team to focus on tax advisory matters for entrepreneur led businesses. Based in Belfast, Kinsella will support PwC’s private business offering across the island of Ireland, working as part of the firm’s local and national teams. Previously she was a tax director at EY in Belfast. 

Interpath has named Robert Capper as head of asset tracing and complex investigations, and managing director, as part of its expansion of global advisory capabilities. He will establish an asset tracing and complex investigations team, which will support clients with specialist, business-critical engagements, working closely with the contentious insolvency and forensics teams in international and offshore markets. Previously he was senior managing director and practice leader at Ankura, and also worked at litigation funder Burford Capital. He began his career at GCHQ.

Quantuma has appointed Luke Furler as leader of its international business with a focus on driving greater connectivity between the firm’s Asia and Caribbean operations in Cayman and British Virgin Islands. Furler joined the firm in 2022 to establish the Asia operation which now has offices in Singapore, Hong Kong, Vietnam and Malaysia. The firm’s international business also includes operations in Cyprus and a joint venture with a leading practice in Mauritius, which has adopted the firms branding.

PKF Smith Cooper has appointed Felix Key as R&D tax director in a newly created role. He is a technical R&D specialist and will work with corporate clients on claims and advisory work, as well as compliance risks, covering the Midlands. Previously he was associate director and technical lead for tax consultancy firm CB Tax, responsible for client delivery at the R&D specialist.

DSG Chartered Accountants has strengthened the audit team with the appointment of five audit and accounts associates, including graduates, Will Corley, Megan Carey, and Sophia Topman, who will embark on Level 7 ACA Apprenticeship. School leavers Jacob Gumbs and Lillian Tomley will begin the Level 3 AAR Apprenticeship. They will all be based in the Liverpool office.

Advancetrack has appointed Craig McKell as Asia Pacific general manager to head up its newly launched Australia and New Zealand business. He is a chartered accountant and former partner at EY, and will be based in Sydney. He will be responsible for growing the business in the region, and supporting the recently signed exclusive outsourcing and offshoring partnership with Chartered Accountants Australia & New Zealand (CAANZ).

The Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy (CIPFA) has appointed Ruth Brockbank as finance director and Graham Jones as interim head of people and culture. Brockbank has significant finance leadership experience, most recently as chief financial officer of London Transport Museum, and earlier in her career spent five years at the National Audit Office, working on public sector audits and value for money studies across HM Treasury, the United Nations, and DCMS charities, and is ACA qualified. Jones has extensive experience in leading organisational change and HR transformation, most recently as interim chief people officer at Macmillan Cancer Support.
