This week's news of professional moves in the sector includes a partner joins Grant Thornton’s transfer pricing team, a corporate tax director and VAT associate director join RSM, Everton football club appoints a finance director
Grant Thornton UK LLP has appointed Nick Foster-Taylor as partner in its transfer pricing team. Foster-Taylor previously headed up teams at leading consultancies and professional services firms. His expertise include M&A transfer pricing, operational planning and redomestication for Brexit and UK and European tax audit defence, amongst other skills.
RSM has appointed Richard Miller as corporate tax director and Karen Gibbons as VAT associate director. Miller Richard joins the firm with 18 years of tax experience. In his career to date, he has been involved in a variety of tax advisory projects including M&A transactions, due diligence, corporate reorganisations, innovation tax reliefs and share schemes. Gibbons is a leading indirect tax professional with over 15 years’ experience gained in practice with the Big Four and at HMRC.
Eight Advisory, a financial and operational consultancy firm specialising in transactions, restructuring and transformation, has hired former EY senior partner, Steve Taylor to expand its valuation practice in the UK. Taylor joins with more than 25 years’ experience in valuations, advising governments, private equity firms, lawyers and corporates. He brings extensive knowledge in the industrial products, consumer products and financial services and is particularly well known for taking expert roles on fairness opinions and in commercial litigation.
Audit partner, Lisa Leighton, and corporate finance partner, Hamish Morrison, will become joint managing partners at BHP from 2019. The pair will take over from John Warner who will continue full-time to manage his portfolio of clients.
Greg Mayne has joined Wilkins Kennedy as head of VAT in its Kent office. Mayne, who joins the firm after more than 20 years with two Kent-based accountancy firms, brings with him nearly 30 years’ experience in VAT and indirect tax. He has also spent 10 years working as an officer for HMRC.
Everton football club has appointed Grant Ingles as finance director. Previously Everton’s finance director between 2013 and 2017, Ingles is making the move back to Everton from Liverpool FC, where he is currently head of finance. He previously worked as a consultant in Deloitte’s sport business group and also spent two years in Australia as finance director for Sydney FC.
