RSM UK has appointed James Hemphill as employment taxes partner in its employer solutions team. He will be based in RSM’s Birmingham office after spending over six years at EY as a people advisory services director and then partner. He has also previously worked at Grant Thornton. Hemphill has extensive experience advising on all aspects of UK employment taxes. He is a specialist in this area, including all aspects of PAYE and National Insurance (NIC) in the UK, as well as off-payroll workers, employer benefits and expenses.
Evelyn Partners has strengthened its business tax team with the appointment of Jonathan Balcombe as a partner focusing on tax advice for private equity-backed companies and their stakeholders. He joins the firm from EY where he worked for more than 18 years and was most recently a partner providing advice and support to private equity-backed and fast-growth companies. Prior to his advisory role in EY's business tax services team in London, he spent 10 years working in M&A carrying out due diligence, tax structuring, tax modelling, and tax review of legal documentation.
