Saffery has hired Ami Jack as a partner and head of the national tax team. She brings over 20 years’ experience advising on professional and regulatory matters relating to tax, with a background in corporate tax and financial services. In her new role reporting to national tax partner Sean McGiness, Jack will lead the national tax team and have responsibility for building and maintaining the firm’s knowledge base on tax developments, managing risk, as well as engagement with tax policy making. Previously, Jack spent seven years at S&W (previously Evelyn Partners) as head of national tax. She originally trained at Deloitte.

Crowe has appointed Hayley Lavery as corporate audit partner in the Midlands office. She has more than 24 years’ experience in providing audit and accountancy services to businesses across manufacturing, distribution, wholesale, and retail and leisure industries, having originally joined the firm in 2006. Lavery supports owner-managed businesses, large corporates and UK subsidiaries of global groups, particularly within the manufacturing industry.

Moore Kingston Smith has announced latest round of partner promotions with Mandy Settle, Adam Fullerton and Paul Springfield all promoted to partner. Anjali Kothari has been promoted to head of nonprofit, taking over from Neil Finlayson who becomes head of donor funded services. Rhea Lucia-Hennis has been hired as a partner and head of tax operations, joining from EY where she was a partner in private client services. Settle has over 20 years of experience in audit, tax and business advisory, focusing on manufacturing and construction. Fullerton is a nonprofit partner with over 15 years’ experience supporting charitable organisations, trade associations and membership bodies. Springfield has 25 years’ experience in general practice and specialises in audit and advisory for owner-managed businesses and international groups. In addition, Jennifer Pearson in general practice, and Jared Goodrich and Jonny Blain in digital transformation, have all been promoted to director.

Monahans has appointed Stephanie Buckley as commercial partner. Working closely with teams across the 11-office firm, Buckley will work to identify new business opportunities and expand the client base across the south west. Buckley is a well-respected figure in the professional services sector, having co-founded The Insolvency Company in 2018 with Gareth Buckley, which is now part of the wider Monahan’s group under the Sumer banner, and where she continues to play an important role.

Grant Thornton has promoted Sreekanth Gaddamanugu and Dylan Rees as partners in its audit practice. Based in Birmingham, Gaddamanugu specialises in mid-market audit and will lead the private audit business, focusing on building a private capital audit team. He has experience working with listed companies as well as growing mid-market businesses in the UK and India. Rees leads audit engagements for a large variety of clients across Wales and the south west. Based in Cardiff, he works mid-market clients with a focus on private equity backed businesses.  

PwC has strengthened its deals practice with the appointment of Hugh Man as a partner in the corporate finance team. He brings over 20 years of experience in the insurance and financial services industry and has worked on numerous transactions including M&A, capital markets and financing deals. Man joins from investment bank Jefferies International where he was managing director and head of EMEA Insurance.

EQ Accountants has promoted Michelle Murray from principal manager to partner, reflecting the ongoing investment in internal talent and leadership development. At the same time, the firm has made three partner hires, Dougy Agnew, Hazel Burt and Ged McLaughlin. Agnew will specialise in corporate tax and brings 30 years of tax advisory experience for owned managed businesses, international groups and HNW. He joins from RSM where he was a tax partner. Burt brings a dual focus on personal tax compliance and consultancy, and has 20 plus years of experience, most recently as a partner at AAB. McLaughlin will focus on corporate finance and brings extensive experience in due diligence, advisory, acquisitions and disposals, and joins from Wylie & Bisset where he was a partner.

PM+M has promoted Dan Bowles from the audit, accounting and advisory team, and Tara Maynard from the financial planning team, to partner. Bowles joined the firm in 2022 as a director and leads a portfolio of audit and non-audit clients in professional services, waste recycling and manufacturing. He has worked in the finance sector for over 25 years. Maynard started at the firm as a financial adviser and became a chartered financial planner in 2020, then director. Her areas of expertise include pensions, investments, commercial property purchases in pensions and IHT planning.

Crowe UK and Horwath HTL have appointed Joe Stather as managing director of Horwath HTL UK, the hospitality, tourism, and leisure consulting arm of the firm. In his new role, he will focus on strategic advisory, due diligence, development and urban regeneration in the UK. He joins the group from Questex, where he was vice president, market leader - operational real estate. Prior to that he spent eight years in hospitality real estate at CBRE, where he was a director.

FRP has promoted Daniel Brecker and Thomas Edwards to partners in the corporate finance practice in its Manchester and Cardiff offices respectively, and Tony Keehan to partner in the restructuring advisory team. Claire Huartson is promoted to appointment-taking director and Mick Naumann to director in the restructuring practice. They join 12 other promotions in FRP’s corporate finance and debt advisory teams, including Nick Gallagher to associate director, and Beth Warner, Jonathan Gonszor, Byron Chadwick and Patrick Starrett move up to senior manager.

Quantuma has appointed Sam Gaunt as a London-based managing director in the restructuring and insolvency team. She has over 20 years’ experience in mid-market and large complex restructurings and is an insolvency practitioner. Gaunt joins from Interpath Advisory where she was a director, and was previously director (restructuring) at KPMG until the business unit was divested.

R3, the insolvency and restructuring trade body, has appointed Tom Russell, licensed insolvency practitioner and director at James Cowper Kreston, as president for a 12-month term, taking over from outgoing president Tim Cooper, partner at Addleshaw Goddard. Russell has spent over 20 years in insolvency and restructuring, is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and has served as a member of various R3 committees, and on the council.

Evelyn Partners has appointed Sean Hagerty as an independent non-executive director. He is an experienced senior executive in the financial services industry and spent 27 years at the Vanguard Group, latterly serving as managing director and head of Vanguard Europe for eight years before retiring in December 2024. Prior to joining Vanguard, Sean worked for PNC Bank and originally trained as an accountant at Peat, Marwick Mitchell & Co (now KPMG).

The Financial Conduct Authority has named former EY partner Anita Kimber as non-executive director of the FCA board. Kimber was lead partner, EMEIA transformation, financial services at EY for six years until July 2024, after having spent the majority of her career in banking and FS including at EY and as a partner at IBM, where she was global relationship partner for Barclays Bank, as well as various positions at Nationwide Building Society, including as director of open banking, innovation and transformation. Kimber is experienced in leading transformation programmes across technology, data and analytics combined with customer insight and user experience focused teams.

Square 4 Partners has appointed Roma Pearson as senior advisory director in the consultancy division of the firm, which specialises in governance, risk, and compliance. Pearson has a regulatory career spanning over 25 years focused on UK financial regulation. She joins from the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), where she was retail markets intervention and policy director and led the supervision and policy development of the consumer lending market. During more than a decade at the regulator, she held several senior positions, including head of risk advisory.

Dotdigital Group, the AIM listed SaaS provider, has appointed Thomas (Tom) Oliver Mullan as chief financial officer and board director. He succeeds Alistair Gurney, incumbent CFO, who has stepped down to pursue ‘new business opportunities’. Mullan brings extensive experience in the software sector and listed companies, most recently as CFO at Gresham Technologies. He began his career at EY, qualifying as an ACCA before moving into business.

DLA Piper has appointed Matt Tweedie as chief financial officer of the international law firm, effective 1 July 2025. Based in London, Tweedie joins from the global real estate consultancy Knight Frank, where he was group CFO and head of business services. He brings valuable experience to support the firm's growth strategy. Before that, he spent 20 years at Arup, including 13 years as group CFO. He is an ICAEW chartered accountant.

Addept Insurance Services has appointed Kelly Jarrett as finance director and board member responsible for financial operations and strategy. She brings senior accountancy and financial management experience within the insurance and not for profit sectors, most recently as finance manger at Ipswich Borough Council and head of finance at Community Action Suffolk.
