David Nelson has been promoted to senior partner at Smith Cooper. In his new role, Nelson will continue to work alongside managing partner, James Bagley, in the ongoing development and implementation of the firm’s strategic vision and the executive management of many of its reporting divisions and subsidiaries. He joined Smith Cooper in 2009 having previously worked for Cooper Parry.

Paul Baldwin has joined RSM as a partner in the firm’s Swindon office. Baldwin is a corporation tax professional with over 20 years’ experience gained in senior roles within Big Four and specialist firms. He has advised businesses on financing, restructuring and investment, as well as compliance, since 1996. He brings a breadth of consulting and transaction experience from advising companies across a number of sectors, from large multinationals to entrepreneurial domestic businesses. The firm has also appointed Tim Cullimore as partner to strengthen its national technology and management consulting service line. Cullimore will draw on his experience in delivering technology enabled business transformation programmes during his 17 years at Deloitte where he led the firm’s national NetSuite & emerging technologies team.

Duff & Phelps has appointed Ted Keen as managing director in the firm’s transfer pricing practice in London. He will serve as the European leader for the practice, focusing on client service and further expansion of the transfer pricing group in Europe. Keen brings over 20 years of experience advising clients on transfer pricing matters in both the US and UK. He has served clients across a wide range of industries, most recently focusing on the life science, high tech, natural resources and business services, and on applying economic analysis to complex transfer pricing valuation matters.

Tim Wainwright and Dean Lake have joined Eight Advisory as senior partners. Wainwright joins as head of operations and IT having spent nearly 20 years as a management consultant and formerly head of the industrial sector transaction services at EY. He has also held roles at IBM where he was recognised through the Top Talent Programme (top 5%). His focus will be on private equity and corporate clients to ensure they receive maximum value during acquisitions, divestments and in post-merger integration. Lake is a transaction tax specialist and former EY associate partner with nearly 20 years’ experience. He joins to expand Eight Advisory’s tax practice where he will be responsible for all aspects of tax in transactions including, UK and international structuring, due diligence and deal support.

Bibby Financial Services has appointed Aman Gill as head of trade services. Joining Bibby with almost 11 years’ experience in the financial services sector, Gill has held a range of senior positions in financial services, supporting SMEs, middle market and corporate businesses. Mostly recently, he held the position of regional sales director at IGF Group. His role as head of trade services is his third at Bibby – with previous experience garnered as a technical manager and relationship manager. he started his career as a relationship support manager at Barclays Corporate.
