Authorities seized three fossilised dinosaurs, nine luxury London properties, and Chinese artworks in proceeds of crime action
The assets were seized from Binghai Su, 37, owner of Su Empire Limited, a Chinese national currently living in the UK, who also holds Cambodian citizenship. He was linked to a money laundering investigation in Singapore in 2023-24.
The investigation was Singapore’s largest ever money laundering case which culminated in simultaneous raids by over 400 police officers on 15 August 2023 and recovered more than $2bn in criminal assets. Binghai Su was never charged in relation to the Singapore investigation.
Back in the UK, in April 2025, the National Crime Agency (NCA) secured an unexplained wealth order (UWO) and freezing order over Su’s UK assets at the High Court. Su instructed his legal team to challenge the orders and a discharge application hearing was set for 5 November, but the NCA reached a settlement with Su and his company to recover assets that were equivalent to the value of the proceeds of crime.
